Abstract
Shigella is a genus of Gram-negative enteric pathogenic bacteria which has four species, Shigella dysenteriae , S. flexneri , S. boydii , and S. sonnei . Shigella species are clinically important bacteria because they cause shigellosis or dysentery. Shigella is a genus of Gram-negative enteric pathogenic bacteria which has four species, Shigella dysenteriae , S. flexneri , S. boydii , and S. sonnei . Shigella species are clinically important bacteria because they cause shigellosis or dysentery. Here we report the genome sequences of 72 Shigella isolates from these four species.
