Abstract

14 N nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of nitrogen oxides, fluorides, and oxyhalides have been recorded using direct measurement with a broad line nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. Also investigated are some nitrogen-containing fluoro- and oxo-cations in protonic solvents. Using the side band technique, fine structure due to 14 N– 19 F spin–pin interaction could be resolved for nitrogen trifluoride, nitrogenoxide trifluoride, and nitrylfluoride.
