Law and Life: Immigrant and Refugee Acts Amid White Nationalism

Abstract

This editors’ introduction provides an overview of this special issue of Amerasia Journal. “Law and Life: Immigrant and Refugee Acts amid White Nationalism” addresses the racialized and intersecting forces that shape immigration law, policies, and enforcement at a time when white nationalism is emboldened. The contributions to the special issue confront the complexities and sometimes conflicting circumstances and advocacy efforts among differently situated immigrant communities. As the essays and profiles collected in this issue demonstrate, the numerous interventions of critical ethnic studies and feminist studies suggest new approaches to immigrant activism and immigration studies in Asian American studies.
