Abstract

Question: What is the interplay between factors related to cognitive resilience (i.e., familial longevity, education, and cognitive activities) on cognitive function? Findings: Familial longevity, education, and cognitive activities contribute independently to better cognitive performance. Importance: This study highlighted avenues toward optimizing cognition among those with familial longevity and the general population. Next Steps: Future longitudinal studies are recommended to investigate which of these protective factors best buffers against cognitive decline in older adulthood.
