Abstract

Special considerations and historical developments in construction of large steel box girder bridges discussed cover erection by large lifts, by balanced cantilevering, mobile crane erection of moderate span highway bridges and railroad bridge erected by launching. Foreign construction methods, latest international conferences and construction failures are reviewed.
