Abstract

A reference generation technique for shunt switching compensators based on Currents' Physical Components (CPC) power theory is presented that utilizes a computationally efficient moving-window DFT along with the CPC orthogonal decomposition of the current instead of the filters typically used to extract the desired components of the current. Each orthogonal component of the current can be adjusted independently in any percentage, thus providing selective current compensation. Details of a prototype compensator and experimental results are also presented. ©2008 IEEE.
