Terras Indígenas do Espírito Santo sob o Regime Territorial de 1850

Abstract

Neste artigo são analisados os direitos territoriais indígenas durante o século XIX, o impacto da Lei de Terras de 1850 sobre tais direitos, e o processo histórico-social de expulsão e de expropriação territorial, então em curso, contra as populações de índios do Espírito Santo (Tupiniquins, Puris e Botocudos).In this article, I discuss the territorial rights of the indigenous population during the 19th century, the impact of the Land Law of 1850 on such rights, and the historical and social process of territorial ouster and expropriation against the populations of Tupiniquim, Puri and Botocudo Indians.
