Abstract

Jorge Gelman’s main contributions on inequality are highlighted from the Argentine and Latin American historical perspective, one of his most fruitful research lines. Gelman harbored several lines of research for four decades, but in recent times, he has reflected mostly on inequality in income and wealth. Distributional problems related to economic growth and living standards were part of their concerns, but the most consistent findings have been disseminated in the last decade. With his invaluable team of researchers from Ravignani Institute, Gelman formulated original hypotheses around new projects on inequality in the context of international historiography.
