Abstract

In this article I approach to the outlines of the refoundation of the Jewish Community of Daroca (Saragosa) in the mid fifteenth century, after its dissolution as a result of the Dispute of Tortosa, and the integration of the first converts generation in the city. Besides, I study through the Jews witnessing in the Inquisition -confronted with documentation of the Royal Chancery, the Notary Protocols and the Acts of the Council- the interrelationship between the second generation Jewish converts with a modest aljama, composed mainly of artisans and small traders. Such coexistence is outlined in two areas, with a very different profile: personal antagonism and business competition, on one side, and the permanence of social and labor, kinship, affection and friendship, as well as cultural and beliefs persistence of the neo-Christians.
