Countless studies show that the Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is one of the most complex challenges you may face a clinical psychologist. The main characteristic of BPD is persistent instability in all areas of operation, which results in significant deterioration of both the affected and their own environment. This paper focuses on explaining the main features of the disorder and the importance of finding an effective treatment. This describes the components of dialectical behavior therapy, and reviewed some researchs concerning empirical support for its effectiveness compared with traditional CBT. It analyzes the data collected to date to guide further research work, thereby attempting to achieve an improvement in the quality of life of these patients
