Abstract

This Viewpoint reflects on the opportunity provided by the COVID experience of women as care takers to participate in tending to the refugee crisis unfolding in Europe as a result of the Russia invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022. By recognizing and tapping into the expertise these care takers gained in the past two years, governments in countries hosting refugees could develop long term responses to the specific needs of the refugees, themselves primarily care takers of vulnerable populations.
