Analysis of technological and multisectoral intelligence competitive practices used by Brazilian organizations

Abstract

From a quantitative study with intelligence professionals from 66 brazilian organizations belonging to some of the main economic sectors of the country, it was found that not all of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) considered important by them are effectively used the development of activities and dissemination of intelligence products demanded by the strategic decision makers, except the internet. The dispersion found for the other ICTs can be associated with several factors, with particular emphasis on: the size and nature of the industrial sector of the organizations surveyed, availability of ICTs within their organization, types of defendants intelligence products, timely delivery thereof, beyond the level of knowledge, personal preferences and characteristics of the implemented intelligence activities. Data were collected through the online application of a structured questionnaire to their professional and analyzed with the help of the techniques of descriptive statistics.
