La biblioteca digital: un proyecto institucional de la Biblioteca Nacional del Perú

Abstract

El artículo reconstruye el último proceso de renovación de la Biblioteca Digital, proyecto orientado a mejorar el acceso al material bibliográfico y documental de la Biblioteca Nacional del Perú, que se inició en 2022 y culminó al año siguiente con el lanzamiento de la renovada plataforma. El artículo intenta, además, presentar una perspectiva histórica que dé cuenta de cómo el proyecto de digitalización fue cobrando mayor relevancia a lo largo del siglo XXI hasta convertirse en un proyecto institucional, que involucró a varias áreas de la entidad y fue priorizado por la alta dirección por su potencial para ampliar el acceso a sus fondos, tras la pandemia y en el contexto del bicentenario de su fundación.The article reconstructs the latest renovation process of the Digital Library, a project aimed at improving access to the bibliographic and documentary material of the National Library of Peru, which began in 2022 and culminated the following year with the launch of the renewed platform. The article also tries a historical perspective to account for the way in which the digitalization project became more relevant throughout the 21st century until it became an institutional project, which involved several areas of the entity and was prioritized by senior management for its potential to expand access to its funds, after the pandemic and in the context of the bicentennial of its foundation.
