Abstract

The preterm population is at increased risk for micronutrient deficiency, a situation that requires adequate supplementation, due to the risk of causing sensorimotor, cognitive, behavioral and somatic growth changes1,2. There are recommendations from scientific institutions about supplementation with iron, multivitamin and zinc for premature children3,4.
