Abstract
People with haemophilia, their families, and their doctors feel threatened by the deluge of speculation about the possible side effects of treatment with blood products. Two topics hold their attention: the risk of contracting the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and the risk of developing hepatits and subsequent chronic liver disease.
