Abstract

Exact equations are given for the calculation of the self-inductance of rectangular conductors and of the mutual inductance between combinations of parallel filaments, thin tapes and rectangular conductors. A general procedure is also given for calculating the self-inductance of complicated geometries by dividing the geometry into simple elements whose inductances can be calculated. This general procedure is valid for conductors having nonuniform, as well as uniform current densities. Publisher National Bureau of Standards
