Abstract

Volume 6 • Issue 7 • 1000257 J Pet Environ Biotechnol ISSN: 2157-7463 JPEB, an open access journal Abstract CO 2 philic surfactants as foaming agent have the potential to overcome CO 2 mobility issues. A study has been conducted to synthesize and evaluates the CO 2 philic surfactants for the CO 2 mobility control. The synthesis process was optimized. The foam durability experiments in the presence and absence of the crude oil were conducted. The mobility reduction factor was found 2.93. In addition, 93.25% oil recovery was achieved. It was observed that the CO 2 /water IFT appreciably decreased from 30 mN/m to 5.21 mN/m by using the surfactant in 0.5 % concentration. Results showed that CO 2 philic surfactant significantly reduce the mobility of the injected CO 2 .
