Abstract
This article examines the news, interviews, and reports from television, newspapers, and digital media that received the most attention in Ecuador during the coverage of the indigenous movement's social mobilizations in October 2019 and June 2022. A qualitative and quantitative content study of 1,274 news reports is conducted with the goal of detecting repeating media practices to construct a depiction of an "enemy" oriented as an uneducated peasant opposed to the better urban paradigm.
