Interview with Professor Mônica de Carvalho Magalhães Kassar: Special Education Policies In Brazil

Abstract

This article presents an interview with Professor Mônica de Carvalho Magalhães Kassar, from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, about the historical movements and displacements produced in the Special Education policies in Brazil, especially regarding the issues surrounding Decree no. 10.502/2020. Throughout the interview, the researcher highlights some important historical milestones in the field of Special Education, refers to the setbacks and dangers that are foreseen with Decree no. 10.502/2020 and also discusses the problem of public funding for education.
