Abstract
Quantumcryptography, or more specifically, quantum key distribution (QKD), has attracteda lot of attention in the recent years with thediscovery that it can provide absolute secrecy for communications. Wepropose a new architecture for implementing a fiber-based network ofquantum key distribution using optical wavelength division multiplexing in thefiber. We discuss the advantages over previous proposals and wereport experimental work demonstrating the feasibility of the proposed architecture. ©2003 COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
