Abstract

The fashion industry is among the most polluting in the world. Hence, fashion products lead to major global challenges, and new trends have arisen to address such challenges. Among these approaches are sustainable fashion business models devised by various companies worldwide. To shed light on the subject, this chapter briefly reviews the history of the sustainable fashion industry. Then, it discusses different types of sustainable fashion and suggests a classification. Subsequently, sustainable business models for fashion are discussed based on some facts and figures from multiple cases. Finally, the chapter concludes with some remarks on this area and provides directions for future research.
