Prevalencia de enfermedades de la mucosa oral registradas entre 2014-2018 en un hospital docente en Perú

Abstract

Objective: To determine the prevalence of diseases of the oral mucosa in the dental service of the regional teaching hospital Las Mercedes Chiclayo, 2014–2018. Materials and methods: descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional study; through simple random sampling 370 clinical records of patients of legal age were reviewed by means of data collection sheet, taking into account the levels of the general population, gender and age. Results: it was found that the prevalence rate is high with 52.7% between 2014 and 2018. The most common diseases were bacterial such as necrotizing periodontitis with 21.0%, and among other diseases occupying the first place is the abscess with 64.1%; within the ages with a higher prevalence they are between 31 and over with 62.9% and with respect to gender, the female obtained 59.0% Conclusions: the prevalence of diseases of the oral mucosa is high, it is higher in the female gender and in ages over 31 years and over in the dentistry service of the las Mercedes Chiclayo Regional Teaching Hospital, 2014-2018. Keywords: Prevalence, disease, oral mucosa.Objetivo: determinar la prevalencia de las enfermedades de la mucosa oral en el servicio de odontología del Hospital Regional Docente Las Mercedes Chiclayo, 2014– 2018. Materiales y métodos: estudio descriptivo, transversal, retrospectivo; mediante el muestreo aleatorio simple se revisó por medio de una ficha de recolección de datos 370 historias clínicas de pacientes mayores de edad, teniendo en cuenta los niveles de población general, género y edad. Resultados: Se encontró que la tasa de prevalencia es alta con 52.7% entre el 2014 al 2018. Las enfermedades más comunes fueron las bacterianas como la periodontitis necrosante con un 21.0%, y entre otras enfermedades ocupando el primer lugar está el abceso con un 64.1%; dentro de las edades con una mayor prevalencia están entre 31 a más años con un 62.9% y con respecto al género, el femenino obtuvo un 59.0%. Conclusiones: La prevalencia de enfermedades de la mucosa oral es alta, es mayor en el género femenino y en edades sobre los 31 años a más en el servicio de odontología del Hospital Regional Docente Las Mercedes Chiclayo, 2014– 2018.
