Abstract

The article discusses a hydrogen flash explosion accident, and the mechanism of hydrogen charging and discharging; and analyses the stress condition at the anchoring points of the blowdown line. Moreover, the load-bearing capacity of the blowdown line and the maximum explosion pressure in flash explosion of hydrogen gas were calculated. It can be concluded that the electrostatic discharge of high pressure ejected hydrogen was the main reason for the accident. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
