Rasionalitas Ketubuhan Tunanetra dalam Menciptakan Estetika Rumah Tinggalnya

Abstract

This article is a study to investigate how three blind man (Yono, Mudji and Suwadji) understand and interpret the aesthetics of their home. Conditions sensory limitations do not make them weak, but became survive in themselves very useful in carrying out the activities at home. Through the 'dialogue' between the body, the senses and space, they were able to create a 'sense of home' as part of the process tocreate the aesthetics of the space they living.Through authentic experience of each visually impaired self based on the way they are 'being' in the world of life (Lebenswelt), they can obtain aesthetic meaning of their home. Everyelement in the settings are experienced witha specifi csensibility to the arrangement of space and furniture (scale, shape/type/nature of the material, and proxemics) which helps to create 'order' that allows them to maneuver around the house. Thus the establishment of 'order' is the key of the creation of aesthetic.
