Probability distributions, hypothesis testing, and analysis

Abstract

This chapter highlights the underlying workings of statistical testing and the meaning of probability (distributions). In forensic sciences, it is important to use statistical tests that are appropriate for the available data, and it is even more important that the conclusions are appropriate for the data on which they are based.
