Abstract

Woody debris accumulation at some bridges during the flood. It is found that the source of the woody debris are transported log from the mountain river during the heavy rain. The purpose of the present study is to analyze the woody debris accumulation phenomena in the flume experiments. The experiments shows that the percentage of trapped wood pieces increased with the number of the released wood pieces. The water depth profile also shows that the backwater rise are increased with the number of trapped wood pieces. Moreover, it is shows that the flood discharge have more significant backwater rise compare to the the lower discharge.
