Abstract

Chromium (Cr), whose atomic number of 24, is known as a transitional element. Cr can exist in a number of oxidative states such as Cr +6 bound to oxygen, however, in an acidic environment, like the stomach, Cr+6 is reduced to trivalent Cr (Cr+3), the most stable form of Cr. 1.
