Exploring the faculty blogoverse: Where to start and what’s in it for academic librarians

Abstract

The article discusses the use of web blogs by academic librarians. Blogs can assist librarians in following professional news and keeping up with technological developments for libraries. The authors comment that blogging offers equality to faculty, students, and librarians. They suggest faculty blogs can be useful to librarians by helping them understand faculty concerns, identifying publications of interest to faculty for inclusion in library collections, and to strengthen contact with faculty members at their own school.
