Abstract

The role of magnetic materials is very important in today's technology. It plays very significant role in the development of sensors for industrial, Défense, astronomical, biomedical applications etc. For example, magnets/ magnetic materials are the key components of all the electrical devices such as transformer, generator, and motor. There are many potential advantages of sensor design using properties of light like immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI), electrical isolation, large bandwidth, ease of integration into digital system, potentially low cost over its non-optical counterpart. Magneto-optics deals with interaction of light with matter when the magnetic-optic material is subjected to an external magnetic field. The presence of external magnetic field interferes with the optical properties of the material. Different orientation of magnetic fields produces different magnetic effects. These effects can be utilized for the design and development of various sensors. This paper presents the comprehensive study and analysis for different wavelengths for ferrimagnetic, diamagnetic, ferromagnetic and paramagnetic materials based on various characteristics analysis of all the proposed materials.
