Cutaneous sarcoidosis of a 31-year-old female: A case report

Abstract

Sarcoidosis is a multisystem granulomatous disease of unknown aetiology. Cutaneous sarcoidosis is seen in up to one-third of patients with systemic sarcoidosis and may be the first or the only clinical sign of the disease. It is characterized by the presence of non-caseating ‘naked’ granulomas in the affected tissue. We report a case of cutaneous sarcoidosis without systemic involvement. Lesions mimicked various other common dermatologic conditions. In this case, we describe the clinical and histopathological findings of cutaneous sarcoidosis.
