Abstract

Syntheses of some ruthenium(II) complexes containing 2-chloro-1,3,2-dioxaphospholane and 2-chloro-4,5-benzo-1,3,2-dioxaphospholane are reported for the first time. The reaction of dichlorotris(triphenylphosphane)ruthenium(II) with these ligands always leads to formation of a product containing two molecules of dioxaphospholane, independently of the stoichiometric proportion employed. On the other hand, complexes derived from chloro(cyclopentadienyl) bis (triphenylphosphane)ruthenium(II) have only one ligand in their structure. The complexes were characterized by 31P{1H} and 1H-NMR spectroscopy.
