Teacher Facilitation for Family Educational Involvement from Home: A Comparison between a Spanish Context and a Colombian Context

Abstract

The educational involvement of families refers to their active participation in the school community, collaborating in education and building democratic schools through the partnership between families and teachers. Each family participates in a different way, and part of this educational involvement takes place from home. The objective of this research is to compare how teachers facilitate family involvement in education from home in a Spanish context and a Colombian context. A validated questionnaire was administered to teachers, and representative samples were obtained. The data collected were analyzed using SPSS. Both groups agree on focusing on fulfilling the obligations of the child, but they differ in terms of promoting cultural activities. Additionally, in the stages and specialties of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education, more attention is given to promoting family involvement from home compared to higher stages and other specialties.
