Cidadania digital nas escolas

Abstract

The general objective of this article is to reflect on the concept of digital citizenship in the context of Education. Specifically, it is intended to investigate the main theoretical and legal aspects that involve digital citizenship; how this concept can be applied in the teaching and learning process; the importance of working it in a school environment and its possible results for the student’s critical education. The methodology applied is the narrative literature review. The research is justified because it is a theme with social, political, educational and legal dimensions, as although the virtual world takes place within a screen, it is directly related to the concrete dynamics of society. It is not, therefore, an environment alien to social life, but a constituent of it, and thus, subject to rules and norms of social conduct, with which individuals need to learn to deal. The simple incorporation of technologies in the school context is not enough for there to be conditions for the full exercise of digital citizenship, it presupposes the critical use of technological resources, which, in turn, demands digital education, in order to enable subjects to develop technical skills and abilities, as well as critical reading of the world.O objetivo geral deste artigo é refletir sobre o conceito de cidadania digital em contexto de Educação. De maneira específica, pretende-se investigar os principais aspectos teóricos e legais que envolvem a cidadania digital; como esse conceito pode ser aplicado no processo de ensino e de aprendizagem; a importância de trabalhá-lo em ambiente escolar e os seus possíveis resultados à formação crítica do estudante. A metodologia aplicada é a de revisão narrativa de literatura. A pesquisa se justifica por ser um tema de dimensões sociais, políticas, educacionais e jurídicas, pois embora o mundo virtual aconteça dentro de uma tela, ele se relaciona diretamente com a dinâmica concreta da sociedade. Não se trata, portanto, de um ambiente alheio à vida social, mas constituinte da mesma, e dessa forma, submetido a regras e normas de conduta sociais, com as quais os indivíduos precisam aprender a lidar. A simples incorporação de tecnologias em contexto escolar não é suficiente para que haja condições de exercício pleno da cidadania digital, essa pressupõe o uso crítico dos recursos tecnológicos, que por sua vez, demanda educação digital, no sentido de capacitar os sujeitos para que esses desenvolvam competências e habilidades técnicas, como também leitura crítica de mundo.
