Abstract

Emotional intelligence has attracted the attention of educators and trainers. Attempts are being made to provide conceptual explanations and operational methodologies for researching and training. Its benefits in terms of winning personality, cohesive teams, effective leadership, and sound performance are tested and enough evidence is gathered to establish. In this paper, an attempt is made to define emotional intelligence (EI), and examine its significance in the context of leadership. In addition, it points out how EI can be measured and developed.
