Abstract

An analytical study is performed to study the effects of thermal radiation on the unsteady MHD free convection flow of a viscous incompressible fluid past an infinite vertical plate containing a ramped type temperature profile with respect to time. The fluid considered here is a gray, absorbing/emitting radiation but a non-scattering medium. The exact solutions of the energy and momentum equations, under the usual Boussinesq approximation have been obtained in closed form by the Laplace transform technique. The influence of the various parameters, entering into the problem, on the velocity field, temperature field, skin friction and nusselt number is extensively discussed with the help of graphs.
