Abstract

The causative factors for throwing shoulder are variously reported, and it is therefore desirable that the treatment should be made under the intimate involvement of various medical staffs. Physical therapy for throwing shoulder plays key roles in improvement of functional disorder and reconstruction of joints of whole body. The roles also extend to avoiding undesirable effect on disease itself and technical ability. The practical purposes of physical therapy for throwing shoulder, that is, to improve the injured point, to improve functional ability, or to perform therapeutic exercise in view of characteristics of sports, should be decided by the physical condition of a subject. © 1998, The Society of Physical Therapy Science.
