Abstract
The capital goods sector is characterized by manufacturing complex products and with a high customization degree. The choice of the most appropriate Order Fulfilment Strategy to satisfy the specific needs of customers in an efficient way, is a very important strategic decision. In response to this demand, this study analyzes the relationship between the different order fulfilment strategies (Engineer-to-order, Make-to-order, Assemble-to-order, and Make-to-stock) and the type of products, depending on their customization degree (standard, configurable, customizable and unique).
