Measurement of bone density by DXA is still the gold standard diagnostic test, however some laboratorial exams also are very important and must be measured before treatment. The ideal treatment must include non pharmacological approach as well as anti osteoporotic medications, which will be covered in this review. The goal of treatment is to prevent fragility fractures.
