Abstract

Abstract: Pharmacovigilance is the study of drug-related injuries for the purpose of making warning or withdrawal recommendationsfor pharmaceutical products. There is almost no data about the perception, that the Costa Rican physicians have about pharmacovigilance. Aim of the study: research knowledge that the Costa Rican physicians have about pharmacovigilance. Method: I conducted a survey from may 2005 until june 2006 in order to explore what the Costa Rican physicians knew about pharmacovigilance and adverse drug reactions. I also wanted to know how and where the physicians did report an adverse reactions to medicaments. I sent 375 surveys y got back 120. Results: Some physicians do not know how y where to do a report about adverse reactions.
