Abstract
This review presents a brief synopsis of recent progress in the area of cancer stem cells, with emphasis on leukemia and breast cancer, and discusses potential limitations to accomplishing the ultimate goal of eradicating residual disease in cancer. © Oxford University Press 2004; all rights reserved.
