Abstract

A Revision of the author's thesis, Princeton, 1970, presented under title: The city in the Old Testament. Urban studies and Old Testament studies: Introduction to the problem -- The urban terminology of the Old Testament -- The Old Testament city: It's nature as seen in its physical, social, economic, and political structures in the Israelite monarchy -- Urbanization in the Old Testament and the Israelite valuation of the city.
