Abstract

Children with migration backgrounds often face educational challenges linked to economic instability, language barriers, cultural differences, and social integration. While some factors lie beyond schools’ control, others are addressed daily in classrooms. Technological innovations—such as language learning apps, social robots, online interventions, and virtual tutors—offer promising tools to support integration. However, the complexity and context-specific nature of these challenges limit the generalizability of findings. This article presents a systematic review of 16 studies from major scientific databases using the PRISMA method, analysing how technology facilitates school integration for this population. The review maps key components of each study, including objectives, technologies used, competencies developed, and evaluation methods. It also synthesizes main findings, highlights reported challenges, and offers recommendations and future directions for leveraging technology to promote inclusion in educational settings.
