Abstract

Both carrion and live sheep were used as hosts for Lucilia cuprina and the post‐feeding larvae permitted to disperse freely. The majority of the larvae entered the soil in the immediate vicinity of the host; median dispersal distances ranged from 0.8 m to 1.6 m. The type of host that the larvae fed upon appeared to have no bearing on subsequent dispersal of the post‐feeding larvae. Copyright © 1982, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
