Abstract

To obtain fundamental knowledge for improving the beauty of tights of flesh color types, we conducted measurements of SD method for visual impression and of optical properties including color, transparency, and distribution of step-luminance using three kinds of pantyhose, sheer, kohhen, and zokki, which differ in yarn structure, and three kinds of tights which differ in yarn thickness as samples. Two experiments were conducted, the one is individual wearing experiments that a subject wear only a pantyhose or a tights individually, and the other is superimposed wearing experiments that a subject superimpose a pantyhose on a tights. The obtained results are as follows: In the individual wearing experiments, pantyhose was beautiful but tights used in this experiments was not beautiful, especially sheer pantyhose was most beautiful among the three kinds of pantyhose. In the superimposed wearing experiments, when a zokki pantyhose superimposed on a tights, they obtained good glossy feeling. There were no difference between pantyhose and tights in color value and transparency. There were difference between the individual wearing and the superimposed wearing in the photographs and graphs of the distribution of step-luminance.
