Abstract

Twenty-seven lichens from 16 genera are recorded from Mt Hirakimata, Great Barrier Island, New Zealand, betweenc. 500 m and the summit at 621 m. Coccotrema porinopsis(Nyl.) Imsh. ex Yoshim. and Siphula ramalinoidesNyl. ex Cromb. are new records for the New Zealand lichen flora. Lichens were collected from a forest environment with Dacrydium intermedium, D. cupressinum, and Agathis australisas important canopy treesw. A northerly extension of the subalpine genus Siphulais noted, and a further location for Menegazzia eperforataP. James ined. is given.© 1980 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
