Interculturalidad y decolonialidad en la inclusión social y educativa de niñez y adolescencia autistas

Abstract

Interculturality and decoloniality in the approach to autism focus on the recognition of diversity as a fundamental characteristic of human beings and on the influence of society, culture, and the environment on shaping individuals' neuronal functioning. The study's main objective was to characterize the mechanisms that intercultural societies develop to promote the socio-educational inclusion of all children and adolescents. The methodology considered an interpretive paradigm with a descriptive qualitative approach. A non-probabilistic sample of 70 stakeholders directly linked to autistic children was considered. The research took place in the rural Andean area of the Bolívar province in Ecuador. It is concluded that in intercultural societies, addressing autism from the perspective of neurodiversity, understood as particular ways of being and existing in the world, facilitates the educational and social inclusion of children and adolescentsLa interculturalidad y la decolonialidad en el abordaje del autismo se enfoca en el reconocimiento de la diversidad como característica fundamental del ser humano y en la influencia de la sociedad, la cultura y el ambiente en la configuración del funcionamiento neuronal de los sujetos. El estudio planteó como objetivo principal caracterizar los mecanismos que las sociedades interculturales desarrollan para promover la inclusión socioeducativa del conjunto de niñas, niños y adolescentes. La metodología consideró un paradigma interpretativo con enfoque cualitativo descriptivo. Se consideró una muestra no probabilística de 70 personas vinculados de manera directa con niñez autista. La investigación tuvo lugar en el área rural andina de la provincia de Bolívar – Ecuador. Se concluye que en las sociedades interculturales, el abordaje del autismo desde la neurodiversidad, entendida como formas particulares de ser y estar en el mundo, facilita la inclusión educativa y social de la niñez y adolescencia.
