Abstract
The study provides the results of the socioeconomic reality of the Venezuelan migrant population, in Cúcuta-Norte de Santander, which occurred since the border closure of 2015. The research was descriptive, the documentary study and the structured survey were used, which allowed the compilation of data directly from the investigated subjects. The population size amounted to 1,088 Colombians. the probabilistic sampling technique was used for convenience, which led to obtaining the characterization of the population under study, as well as information on the current family nucleus and the quality of life they possessed. In Venezuela. The displaced and deponed people of Venezuela who were immersed in the humanitarian crisis, left behind a life affected in social, educational and labor: the most relevant aspect is that they come from the lowest economic stratum. The economic effects derived from this migration directly influenced the increase in the level of unemployment in Cúcuta. because deponed people do not have an effective job opportunity because they lack legal documents to remain and work in Colombia. The situation affected Colombian and Venezuelan citizens, generating the governments of the two countries concern about the high growth rate of the humanitarian crisis, presenting socio-anthropological effects, specifically in the health system, shortages of medicines and food and environmental impact: Given this phenomenon, governments have requested help from the world health organization to counteract this negative impact on the border region.
