Abstract

This research was conducted in order to establish the progress made by the web accessibility in the pages of higher education institutions verify ing how many of them implement the NTE INEN ISO/IEC40500standard,which establishes accessibility guidelines for web content and which was adopted in 2014 to ensure access for people with disabilities to the content published on the web. By reviewing the websites of the IES using free tools online, the average application of accessibility standards was estimated. With the information obtained it can be concluded that websites analyzed meet a percentage accessibility required by the NTE INEN ISO / IEC 40500 standard, applying to some extent the implementation of standards to ensure access for people with disabilities to information and services offered on them.
