Oral expression: a problem to be addressed

RESUMEN El presente artículo enfoca el tema de la expresión oral en el idioma inglés y tiene como objetivo hacer una revisión no solo de las nociones básicas de esta habilidad, si no del trabajo realizado por diversos investigadores a nivel internacional y nacional quienes han aplicado una variedad de estrategias para mejorarla. Previamente se ha seleccionado y analizado con rigurosidad académica la información vinculada a la expresión oral de artículos científicos físicos y virtuales, libros, tesis, etc. mediante el uso del gestor bibliográfico Mendeley. Se concluye que la expresión oral ha sido relegada en la educación secundaria por detrás de la lectura y la escritura. Independientemente de la preferencia de cada docente se hace necesario presentar nuevas estrategias de desarrollo de dicha destreza para la formación integral del estudiante. ABSTRACT This article focuses on the subject of oral expression in the English language and aims to review not only the basic notions of this skill, but also the work carried out by various researchers at the international and national level who have applied a variety of strategies to improve it.
