Abstract

This paper seeks to examine the evolution of the functional income distribution results in the recent period, as well as to provide information to complement the Brazilian SNA. It shows a gradual loss in the weight of compensation in national income, from 1995 to 2004, later reversed and recovered until the end of the series, in 2009. As for the operating surplus, the result found was the opposite. The estimated results for 2010 and 2011 indicated the continuation of this trend, which was explained mainly by the increase of employment and wages in the country in recent years. The methodology proposed for data provision intends to eliminate the current two-year delay among the results of income approach and the annual results of production and expenditure approaches, obtained by quarterly system.
